Putnam County Deputy Sheriff Christopher Irwin conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on I-684 north shortly after 7 p.m. on March 27 after the driver committed a vehicle and traffic law violation.

According to investigators, during the stop, it was determined that Kent resident Desiree Anderson, 32, who was the front-seat passenger, had an active warrant out for her arrest in the Town of Southeast for criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Langley said that while being investigated, Anderson attempted to provide Irwin with multiple false identities and names. It was also determined that Anderson had swallowed crack-cocaine before the traffic stop, and she was in possession of multiple crack pipes.

Anderson was arrested and transported to a local hospital for evaluation. She was charged with tampering with physical evidence, a misdemeanor, criminal impersonation, criminal possession of a controlled substance, obstruction of governmental administration and false personation, all misdemeanors.

After being released from the hospital, Anderson was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Southeast Justice Court at an unscheduled date and time.
